Excellent, crisp bird portrait Alun. Would have cropped a tad off the right hand side to loose that bit of shadow though.

@grouser: Thank you grouser. I did try and take out the shadow by cropping but it would have put the bird in the middle and thats a no no. So the next thing was to try and clone it out but i couldn't get it to look right so it stayed.

Unusual to get such a close-up of a sparrow! Maybe they're usually deemed unworthy subjects? But this is really revealing and interesting, great stuff!
