Did you use a polarizing filter? 15 Jun 2008 9:44am @António Pires: Thank ou very much Antonio, No polarizing filter just a gradual neutral gray G2 filter. dj.tigersprout from San Bruno, United Stateslove the expansive rocky foreground and how the 2 houses sit at the top right! excellent balance at work here! 15 Jun 2008 10:12am @dj.tigersprout: Thank you very much for your kind comments @Marie: Thank you @Alisha: Thank you very much Alisha Craig from Vacaville, California, United StatesThis is the stuff dreams are made of! Wonderful work! 15 Jun 2008 10:45am Illuci from Hurdegaryp, NetherlandsThis is so great, the mud leading the eye to the two houses in that aetherical light which is so typical for marine areas. I hope the houses aren't threatened by the sea. 15 Jun 2008 11:43am Eric Fry from Houston, TX, United StatesBeautiful scene, Alun. I can just imagine sitting on that shore in a chair with a fishing pole and an ice chest full of brown ale and cheeses... 15 Jun 2008 11:58am @Eric Fry: That sounds great Arash from Dubai, United Arab EmiratesGreat landscape with a nice contrast in a good composition. 15 Jun 2008 12:49pm @Arash: Thank you very much Cheryl from Texas, United StatesI like the forground and balance a lot in this one, nice clarity as well 15 Jun 2008 12:53pm paulski from Muncie, IN, United Statesbeautiful; very interesting framing. what lens is this? 15 Jun 2008 2:42pm @paulski: This was taken with a sigma 17-70, cheers Stéphane from Near to BXL, BelgiumBeautiful place. Nice picture. May be it was indeed the perfect place to try a polarizer filter. But I can not really judge, as the only filter I have, until now, is an UV filter. 15 Jun 2008 5:33pm @Stéphane: I had used a polarizer on it, but when you use a polarizer the camera on a very bright day will have trouble getting a good reading, so if you use a grad it levels this out standley from brou-sur-chantereine, FranceThis is a stunning compsition Alun. What a beautiful place! 15 Jun 2008 6:40pm @standley: Thank you very much Marion from Nanaimo, BC, CanadaGreat composition Alun. The clouds and water are just stunning, but still the two houses stand out and capture your attention. Not a bad place to be. 15 Jun 2008 7:56pm @Marion: Thank you Marion @Graham Russon: Thanks very much for your comments Marie-Hélène Ammor from Casablanca/Paris, MoroccoWonderful composition and luminous picture ! 15 Jun 2008 9:46pm Ken McCoy from Orlando-Daytona Beach, FL, United StatesAn interesting and atypical seascape! 16 Jun 2008 4:15am @Ken McCoy: thank you Ken Pied Crow from Nairobi, KenyaGreat landscape/seascape, I like the low angle you have chosen. 16 Jun 2008 5:37am Stéphane from Near to BXL, BelgiumThanks for your reply about the polarized filters. I did not know that point. 16 Jun 2008 8:50pm @Stéphane: Thank you Stephane lisa v from Gawler, AustraliaGreat photo, very nicely done. Looks cold to me even though the sun is shining, perhaps it's the lack of sand, or maybe it's just because I'm australian. The houses look very substantial though. 17 Jun 2008 2:10pm @lisa v: Thank you Lisa, It was warm but the wind was cold. ceanothe from Franceun paysage qui rappelle la Bretagne, avec un ciel et des rochers magnifiques ! 17 Jun 2008 7:54pm @ceanothe: Thank you for commenting |
