great still and great capture! i like the placement of the bird within the frame. my attempts to photograph birds have been pretty miserable... we have a good deal of gulls here too... i have been trying for hawks... but the detail doesn't seem to come out as nice as i would like. nice job here.

Somehow, this gull looks like he's from the UK --doesn't look at all like an American gull. Perhaps it's the accent.

@Twelvebit: This is a Black headed Gull from Europe and Asia, But they are migratory. Some do spend time in winter in the Northeasten United States.
