This was taken in an animal park in bielefeld germany.
Looks like a beaver, has a tail like a rat. Interesting little animal and an excellent shot.

Is it a nutria? We have these in Japan. An introduced species that have wreaked havoc with native flora and fauna.

@Daroru: These were native to germany, i dont no if thay still live there. These were taken in an animal park were all the animals used to or still do come from gemany.
He looks too cute to be any kind of rat.
