Marion from Nanaimo, BC, CanadaGreat shot Alun. We were in Vegas in November and stayed at the Monte Carlo on the 30th floor (before the fire) and this is pretty much what we saw when we looked out the window, but the windows were dirty, so weren't able to get a good shot. I didn't know about the stratosphere tower. Excellent view and again a great picture. 10 Apr 2008 5:22am @Marion: yes the windows in our hotel were dirty so it was great to go up the tower. And you could have some fun on the rides. Thanks Rhys from Darlington, United Kingdomlike it- that road (centre right) really makes it. 10 Apr 2008 6:06am @Rhys: thanks MaryB from Staffordshire, United KingdomAmazing shot Alun, I've only ever seen Vagas on the TV, it is so much bigger than I imagined. 10 Apr 2008 8:20am @MaryB: yes its fairly big. but whats mad is that it's in the middle of a desert there's nothing around it. Thanks for your comments Shuva Brata Deb from Hyderabad, IndiaI have never seen a picture of Las Vegas during the day before. Not as good as it looks at night. 10 Apr 2008 12:24pm Anthony from Bielefeld, GermanyA zoom in on the trees on the main drag would have been a bit more interesting!!!!! Good shot Bro! 10 Apr 2008 3:20pm @Anthony: But if you look at the left of the photo there is a golf course and there's loads of tree's for you. Michael Rawluk from Prince George, CanadaThat is a cool shot of the city that should not exist. They are stealing water from a huge part of the west and destroying ranches in the process. But enough of the rant. Terrific shot. 10 Apr 2008 4:18pm @Michael Rawluk: I can imagine. So many people in the middle of the desert. Thanks. Earnest from Oklahoma, United StatesHave never seen it from this perspective and if that's a golf course I see in the background... very strange. 10 Apr 2008 5:18pm @Earnest: yes it is golf course., and what's realy strange is if you fly over vegas there are about four and they are completely green and surrounded by buildings. vu@granby - Wolfgang from Granby, Quebec, CanadaVery good shot, but I have to agree with Michael about the water. In your shot we can see a golf course,,,, 10 Apr 2008 5:31pm @vu@granby - Wolfgang: Its mad. Observing from Chester, United KingdomVery nice cityscape, never been there.... yet. 10 Apr 2008 6:04pm @Observing: thanks lovely boy @standley: Thanks Standley. danthro from Suburbia, United Stateswow. what a view! i wouldn't have expected there to be so much empty space so close to the high rises. nice shot. 11 Apr 2008 12:41am @danthro: cheers Celialee from Kyoto, JapanI have to go to Las Vegas! Only ever saw it on TV...haha! 11 Apr 2008 4:32am @Celialee: you will love it Twelvebit from Victoria, United StatesI was just reading how much of the construction there is about to come to a halt due to collapsed financing resulting from the worldwide derivatives fiasco. 14 Apr 2008 3:31pm |
